Patiently Waiting

My newest available painting was quite an endeavor! I started her almost two months before she was completed! Usually I paint quickly, and can finish an 11 x 14 inch portrait anywhere from two days to a week. Rarely does it take longer than that. But as sometimes happens, life and circumstances play there part, and sometimes projects have to be set aside. Little by little, I worked on this one when I had the chance.

Patiently Waiting – 11 x 14 inch acrylic and collage on stretched canvas

I think you know why I gave her that title. Patiently, she didn’t give up on me, and I didn’t give up on her. That gorgeous light aqua green color came in at the end, which completely made the portrait for me…a little reward for my patience I guess.

She is now varnished and and waiting patiently for a new home.

I have a few more new things in the shop too. I have enjoyed working on these small 4 x 4 inch chunky canvases.

I have Iceland Poppies growing in the backyard, and I think they inspired this one.

Another small painting, this time, a little portrait.

PortraitofGiovanna1

And another redhead found her way into my shop this week.

Portrait of Giovanna was originally in my Daily Paintworks shop. Now, she has a listing in the ArtcyLucy Etsy shop. She is larger than my usual…14 x 18 inches acrylic on stretched canvas. She is inspired by the paintings and drawings of the master artist, Leonardo da Vinci. I loved experimenting with that darker Renaissance palette, and I had so much fun with the movement of her hair.

You can find her listed in the ArtcyLucy shop, along with 162 other drawings and paintings. If you have a chance to take a look, you might find something that you fall in love with.
