Mixed Media Abstracts
I am still enthralled with mixed media, and this time, I was able to paint on cradled wooden panels…a very fun surface!
Time and Distance – 6 x 6 inch cradled wood panel (acrylic, paper, wax varnish)
The Space Between – 6 x 6 inch cradled wood panel (acrylic, paper, ink, wax varnish)
The sides of these cradled panels are painted, which means they can be hung as is, without a frame. Because of their small size and light weight, they can be displayed on an easel, or as you see here, displayed on a fireplace mantle.
I am certainly enjoying these paintings. I am studying color harmony and composition, learning how to create texture, and keep things simple, yet dramatic. This has been a really great way to end a year of painting exploration.
Both paintings are now available in my Etsy shop, ArtcyLucy Studio.
