New Art

Sweater Weather and a BIG sale!

Hello! It’s been a while since I have shared a little post on life and art! I hope you are all doing well. It’s turned much cooler in my neck of the woods, and we are starting to prep the garden for winter, and planting for spring. Even on the chilly days, it’s been so lovely to see some of the hearty dahlias, like the Red Carpet variety, still blooming and bringing unexpected color to our front garden. This is the garden we planted in early 2021, after taking out the lawn, and it has been a treat to watch it mature these last few years. I’ve also been busy collecting and sorting seeds from the garden to share with friends and neighbors next spring.

On the art front, things have a been a bit slow, I think I have just needed to rest a while. But I have started a few projects in the last month. Here is a sneak peek of what I have been playing with.

I have had two art shows this year, and they went very well. I also helped on a lovely art course. But this is the time of year when I slow down to assess what I have done, and where my art may be headed. More florals, perhaps? Back to abstracts? I do miss them!

I have done quite a few portraits this year…well over 50 of them. I think I may give faces a rest for part of 2025. But I have loved all the ones I have created, and it was such a joy to send them to their new homes.

When I look back at the year and all the portraits created, I am amazed at the work!

Each one feels special to me, and has a character of her own.

I am happy to say that most of the portraits have sold.

But there are a few left in the shop, and I wanted to share a sale with you.

Now through December 1st, everything in the shop is 25% off.

There are 5 portraits available and quite a few colorful abstracts too, all original art.

It is difficult to express the freedom I feel when I create in this way, with colors and shapes and textures. Creating abstract pieces inspired by my garden makes me really happy, and I know that I will be doing much more of this towards the end of this year and into the next.

The Voyage – available now

Love Will Keep Us Together – available now

Moonlight and Memories – available now

Each of these beauties are in my shop now, and included in the sale. Just pop on over to ArtcyLucyShop.com and you can see all the pieces. Most shipping costs are for US shipping only. But if you are in another part of the world, and you see some art you would love to have, let me know, and I can estimate shipping for you.

I hope wherever you are in the world, you are having a lovely and calm November.

I will leave you with an art quote I find very interesting.
