June is here, and I have been trying to finish up some projects from May. This one, was started almost a month ago. Slowly she came to life, and a garden grew around her, much to my surprise.

I love the Klimt influence in this one, with the colors, her hair, and the decorative quality of the overall portrait. I had a great time watching her come to life on canvas. I think that’s what I love most about painting portraits…watching them become a person. From start to finish, I never really know what they will turn out like. I just keep working until I love them.
