Inspired by Marie Laurencin
From the dark palette of John Singer Sargent, to the candy colors of Marie Laurencin…what an extreme! I am enjoying this look into her art, and learning how she simplified Rococo paintings, to make her unique portraits. You can imagine how much I love her art, since I am a fan of painting ladies with either hats, or feathers, or flowers in their hair!
Claudine – 5 x 7 inch acrylic on Ampersand gessobord
Clementine – 5 x 7 inch acrylic on Ampersand gessobord
Christelle – 5 x 7 inch acrylic on Ampersand gessobord (this painting is reserved)
It was fun to have them all on the palette at the same time. And working in these colors made me happy. In fact, I am working on a few more portraits in this style and color combination. In the meantime, both “Claudine” and “Clementine” are available in my Etsy shop.
More of my art can be seen in my Daily Paintworks Gallery
