The Boat at Krathi

TheBoatAtKrathiThe Boat at Krathi, Peloponnese, Greece

6 x 6 inch acrylic on Ampersand Gessobord

I am painting from virtual scenes again, thanks to Google Maps, and Bill Guffey at The Virtual Paintout Blog. The location of the month? GREECE…my mother’s birthplace! I’ve been to Greece twice, but not as a painter. it has been fun to use Google Maps as a way to see the cities, towns, villages, and islands of this beautiful country. I chose several “simple moments” scenes to paint, and most of them have a boat in it. This particular boat, has a Greek name on the side, Eliza. I wonder about the woman it was named for, and the story of this tiny boat.

“The Boat at Krathi” is now available in my Etsy shop.
