Immersed in florals
June seems to be the time for floral paintings…
Orchids – 14 x 18 inch acrylic on stretched canvas
My local day spa asked if I would bring them a painting to display in their office. I was more than happy to oblige them. I noticed orchid decorations around the building, so decided to try my hand at painting orchids. I love how they stand out against the muted background.
“Blossom” is a 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand gessobord
A friend of mine graduated last week. She is teaching herself Japanese. I decided to paint her some cherry blossoms, with the Kanji script for “Blossom”. I had so much fun with this painting…
that I started a second one…
“Love Blossoms” is a 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand gessobord (SOLD, thank you!)
“The Truth About Flowers” is a 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on cradled wood panel. Lots of fun layers here!!!
“Just Enjoy the Show” is a 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on stretched canvas. I am loving these dramatic colors!
And finally, a nod to Matisse and his vermillion fish!
“Flowers and Fish” is a 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on stretched canvas. This was for the Daily Paintworks challenge…fish! These three are now available in my Etsy shop, ArtcyLucy Studio.
I hope you are not tired of florals yet…because there are more colorful paintings to come!
