Victorine – 6 x 6 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand Gessobord
Last week, I had the opportunity to sit at the easel for a short time, and paint. When I am short on time, sometimes my best work comes out…because I am not stressing about details, I am just enjoying the act of painting. I put three 6 x 6 inch gessobords on the easel, side by side…and just went for it. Over the next few days, you will see my efforts. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, because even though I was inspired by a Kees Van Dongen painting, she certainly came to have a life of her own. There’s a lot of texture and color here, and I am learning more and more about shading and contouring the facial features…with color!
