It’s been a month and a half since our trip to Amsterdam. The driving force behind this trip to The Netherlands, was to see The van Gogh Museum. I was NOT disappointed.
“Vincent” is an original acrylic painting on 9 x 12 inch heavyweight Mixed Media paper.
This is the first painting I started after my trip to the beautiful city of Amsterdam…and two visits to the van Gogh museum. I have been smitten with the art of Vincent van Gogh for a while now, but to see his art in person, made a huge impression on me…especially his self portraits. I came home with those images in my head, and a real need to get some bold and colorful brush strokes down on paper. I used no photo reference for this painting, I just wanted the images in my head, to form the basis for this painting of Vincent. There was just something about seeing that piercing stare…
