“Ma Petite Chérie” is a 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand Gessobord panel
I’m still in Matisse mode. I’m sure it is no surprise to you, that I love creating portraits. But I love how sweet and innocent this one feels…and I love the scratched in look and texture…scratching away to reveal the colors underneath. This is a new technique for me. I’m always amazed at how I start off having one vision of a painting in mind, and how it totally becomes something I could never foresee. And I just love her sweet face looking back at me!
This painting is now availablein my online art shop, ArtcyLucy Studio on Etsy.
Cindy, thanks so much for taking the time to comment on this painting! I have to admit, she is one of my favorites from this group of Matisse inspired paintings. I am learning so much!
Joan, thanks so much for your comment! I am really loving this study of Matisse, and this one painting seems to be set apart from the rest. I think it must be those eyes staring back at us! 🙂
Wonderful style and color!
