My love of canvas collage!
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…nothing thrills me more than creating a collage using vintage bits of ephemera, images, buttons, papers, paints, textures…ahh…I am at my most peaceful when I am creating art! I love how imagination takes over, and what vision you had at the beginning, evolves into something usually much more in depth than you had planned. My best work comes, when I don’t overthink a piece, and decide to just have fun, and see where it leads me!
This is one I call, The Dawn. I used vintage piano paper for the wording, and bits of cloth, and buttons to add more texture and interest. The image is a copy from an old Munsey magazine, about a hundred years old!
I am trying to be more brave about color! The family of reds seem to be one of my favorites! This is an 8 x 10 collage on canvas board. It sits perfectly on an easel, in a frame, or on a fireplace mantle. If you are interested in this piece, or any of my other collages, please feel free to see my Etsy shop.
I am also happy to announce that I am taking orders for custom made collages, made from your own family images. If you are interested something special, for either yourself, a family member, or a friend, please email me at ArtcyLucy@aol.com
