Art Now for Autism
Have you heard about Art Now for Autism? It is part of the Autism Speaks organization which promotes awareness and provides education for families affected by autism.
So far, over 50 artists have donated art for their annual art exhibit and sale, which begins in October. What a great way to raise funds for this charity. This is such a privilege for me, to showcase and offer my art for this worthy cause that is so close to my heart. I once knew a little boy who was autistic. Thirty five years later, I have seen him progress to the responsible man that he is today, a generous soul, a friend to all, and a wonderful pianist. He and his family are a constant inspiration, not only to me, but to our whole community.
I will be sending them this 9 x 12 acrylic painting to add to their art exhibit and sale. It is entitled “Under the Paris Moon” and combines my love for the colors and techniques of Van Gogh and Chagall, for my love of “The City of Light”.
I will also be sending them 20 altered puzzle pieces, made into wearable art pins, that they will offer for donation. I had such fun creating these little pins, and can’t wait to see what the other artists have come up with too.
