New paintings to share

I am excited to share my newest work with you! I have been working on a few things simultaneously…florals, as well as waterlilies, along with my beloved portraits. I am excited about all of these beauties…and I hope you love them too.

8 inch round canvas
I LOVE this sweet girl…those eyes get me every time! It’s been fun to experiment with a few round canvases lately. Of course, one of my favorite color combos is this teal and rusty red palette.

8 x 10 inch acrylic on Raymar panel
You have probably already guessed, she is Frida inspired, with those bold and beautiful brows, and flowers in her hair. Frida used to paint her dreams which reflected her reality. I am so happy I painted my first “dreamy” Frida inspired painting. I LOVE the drama here.

5 x 7 inch acrylic on Senso panel
Another dreamy portrait…I love this sweet one so much, especially with those beautiful sun rays shining on her face. Her French title means, The Damsel and the Sun. We all need to feel a bit of warmth and dreaminess these days.
I also love painting on these Senso linen panels.

5 x 7 inch acrylic on Senso panel
Another sweet dream girl on Senso panel. Love the intimacy of painting on this small surface. I can really concentrate on the face, and this panel really does well with acrylic brush strokes. I love her vintage style, her fashionable hat, and most of all, her calm and dreamy look.

8 x 10 inch acrylic on Raymar panel
Quite an emotional look here, contemplation and heaviness, and looking forward, with eyes wide open. I enjoy painting on these Raymar panels, they take paint so well. They are not as textured as a stretched canvas.

8 x 10 inch acrylic on cradled wood panel
I painted these two beautiful waterlily paintings this past summer, and I have been holding onto them for a while. I love the colors in these two so much.

8 x 10 inch acrylic on cradled wood panel
There is something about this mix of purple, green, blue and pops of red and orange…just a happy palette! I can never have too much color.

14 x 18 inch acrylic on stretched panel
These two florals were such a fantastic way to play with color placement, a bit of stenciling, and thick brush strokes. I can definitely get lost playing like this!

14 x18 inch acrylic on stretched canvas
Pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone…and jumping into florals, was just what I needed this autumn. I come at these canvases with a sense of experimentation. Acrylics are great that way…you can layer and layer and layer until you love it! And then you have amazing texture on a canvas. This one has a bit of collage mingled in with stenciling, mark making and brush strokes.

Love them all. Filling my heart with flowers is probably my favorite. Well done!
