New Art

Undivided Attention

It’s been a while since I’ve been here to share some new art with you! Summer has been buzzing with lots of things vying for my attention. So, as I was typing this, I thought how funny that I chose “Undivided Attention” as the title to my latest painting!   This newest portrait, has all the fun things I love about painting lately…scribbly “script”, organic shapes, dramatic color, and a captivating look on that face. Loving that arched brow!

She is now varnished and ready for a new home. You will find her in my ArtcyLucy Etsy shop at the moment.

I was also able to do a painting of my niece, Brooke, as a graduation present for her. Smiles are always a challenge, but I think I am happy with how she turned out!

And happier still, that she loved the painting too!

I am also happy that I was able to paint some flowers this summer.  This one is called Constant Friends. It’s a small acrylic painting on 5 x 7 inch Ampersand Gessobord.

This one is also a small 5 x 7 inch acrylic portrait, and it’s titled, Always Flowers. You will find these two little beauties in my online shop too!

Something else I have been enjoying this summer, is drawing. And specifically, drawing on my iPad with my Apple Pencil.

It’s been a very warm summer…and I don’t particular care for the heat. So, being able to create like this, even on the warm days, helps me. I think that it gives me ideas for future paintings, and the practice of drawing faces is always good for me! I am using the Art Set 4 app on my iPad, if you are interested in playing digitally too.

I hope you are enjoying your week!

I hope to be back soon to share some new things!
