Portrait of Amelia – 11 x 14 inch mixed media on stretched canvas

I am still loving the allure of black and white…loving that dramatic feeling it brings to these portraits. In this one, I added collage first after I painted the portrait, in the form of those smaller flowers. Those are napkins I found at the store. I decided I wanted one large flower behind her, so tried to mimic the look of the smaller flowers. I think it works…she is still the focal image of this painting, but she looks stunning surrounded by that bold color.
