Dreaming of Autumn – 8 x 10 inch acrylic painting on Raymar Feather Lite Panel
Sometimes, I don’t plan out the colors I will use ahead of time. This particular painting session, I was using some new paints that I purchased, Maimeri Acrilico. The colors I had chosen, were a red oxide and olive green, along with a few others I wanted to try out.
There’s no secret…I really love that auburn red and soft green combination…I use it a lot! In this case, it reminded me of Autumn…a season I love, and think about often during the summer months (especially when I need a break from the heat!).
I love these soft colors, with this portrait especially. It was a challenging angle to try, but I ended up loving the result. I enjoyed painting the contours of her face and shoulder. And I particularly love the way she is bordered by a beautiful mix of brush strokes in the background.
