I am really loving this chance to make some of my smaller portrait studies into larger canvas paintings. I love her wild hair just blowing in the wind. She went through quite a metamorphosis to get to where she is now…but I finally landed on this deep rich red as her background color…just for a dramatic effect.

This is one of six large canvases that will be hanging this month in a brand new beauty salon in my community…I thought something “hair themed” might be appropriate for the space.
