County Kerry Cottage

I’ve just returned from a wonderful week away at the ocean! It felt good to refresh ourselves with the sounds of the waves outside our door. Of course, I took a small art kit with me, and worked on a few things for my online art class. But it wasn’t until I came home, that I was able to get back to some acrylic painting.

County Kerry Cottage – 6 x 6 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand gessobord (SOLD, thank you!)

Although this painting was done for The Virtual Paintout blog, this was quite a personal painting for me. The location of the month, is County Kerry, Ireland, possibly my favorite place on earth! So, while I was meandering around Ireland’s west coast virtually, (thanks to Google Maps Street View)…it was bringing back fond memories of being at this special place (which I have done twice in my life!).  The last time I was there, was February of 2011…and I do miss it! There is nothing quite like driving around the Dingle Peninsula! The rolling hills, the moody gray skies, the quaint cottages…and yes, the sheep…all make for an exquisite view. And one that I was most happy to paint!

This painting is now available in my Etsy shop, along with quite a few more Google Street View paintings.
