Zahra – means Flower
Zahra – 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand gessobord (SOLD, thank you!)
I am playing around with layers, and backgrounds and colors…it is a month for experimenting and having fun. I am doing another 30 paintings in 30 days challenge, encouraged by Leslie Saeta. This is the fourth time in two years, that I have done this challenge. It isn’t always easy to make the goal, but I have always reached it, and I’ve learned so much in the process.
When I am naming my paintings, I like to look up names online, to see if one fits the character of the portrait I’ve painted. When I came across the name Zahra, and it’s definition, Flower…I knew I had found the right name for the right portrait. After all, an exotic portrait, needs an exotic name! There is a bit of gold paint in this portrait too, in her flower garland. I love the dark black background, and I have a feeling you will see more like this in the future.
