Water Lilies in the Afternoon
Water Lilies in the Afternoon – 9 x 12 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand art panel
Technically, this isn’t one of my 30 Paintings in 30 Days for January, because I finished this painting the end of December. But I didn’t varnish it till this month, so it’s the only painting that has straddled 2013 and 2014. It was the second one in my newest venture into painting water lilies. This one took a lot more time, and went through many transformations until I was happy with it. I imagine myself on the banks of this little pond, having a picnic with my best friend. What a peaceful place this must be!
This painting is now ready to be in someone’s home. It should easily fit into any standard 9 x 12 inch frame of your choice.
I have since painted four more water lily paintings, and I am eager to show you those in the next few days. I hope you are enjoying your January so far. For me, it’s been a lovely month of escaping into the art room…that’s always a happy place to be! I’ve painted 10 paintings in 10 days, so I am on schedule to reach my goal for the month!
