Sofia – 11 x 14 inch acrylic painting on smooth Bristol paper

This painting is, sort of, a continuation of the story started in the last post, with my last painting…called  “First Kiss.” This is a character from the mini series I was watching one evening, and I decided to paint her expression, and her very simple, but elegant, beauty.  This has been one of my very favorite portraits to paint. I feel like I have learned so much with this one. It took two sittings to get it just right. I worked on her facial features in detail, but wanted to keep the background soft and loose around her. And I used a pretty simple palette. I do love the look in her eyes, and the soft expression on her face. I enjoyed this portrait so much, that I started one immediately after I finished it. I’ll be back soon, to show you another completed portrait.
