paper, paint, and portraits
March has turned out to be quite a busy painting month for me…which is wonderful!
“Two Sisters”
This is a mixed media portrait, using all kinds of ephemera, such as junk mail envelopes (for her yellow collar!), vintage book pages (lookat those flowers in her yellow dress), there is a paper doily in one of the hats, and a decorative napkin on her skirt. A bit of glue, paper and paint…and Two Sisters and their story, were created. They are taking an afternoon stroll in lovely old England…with their lovely frocks.
All Thoughts Concealed – is a 9 x 12 inch painting on heavyweight Bristol paper. She reminds me of a Renaissance lady, waiting for perhaps her beloved … I like to make up stories for these characters, as you can tell!
This is Ella. I am not quite sure of her back story yet…but I do love the tilt of her head. Very cute.
Mary…a spunky yet sweet red head from days gone by. ***SOLD, THANK YOU!***
***SOLD, THANK YOU!***
And this is Elinore…quietly listening to classical music. I’ve been listening to a lot of classical music lately…especially when I am painting. So, maybe that’s influenced her story. Isn’t it great how we can just make up stuff?
All of these new paintings Three of these paintings are still available in my Etsy shop.
There’s a few more to show you…so I’ll be back soon!
