This summer has been a FULL one, and there has been lots of art making around here. More drawing than painting in the last few weeks though. I have finished up two more painted portraits, and you will see a bit of abstract qualities to them. I am concentrating on my year’s goal, to really get into brush strokes and looseness in my work.
The Emerging Artist – 11 x 14 inch acrylic on stretched canvas
Some would say this is a bit of a self portrait…and I can see that too, in some physical features as well as the message of an emerging artist. I feel like that has happened to me, especially the last two years. Growing, and becoming more confident in trying new things, and being comfortable with the art that I do.
Portrait of Siena – 9 x 12 inch acrylic on stretched canvas (SOLD, thank you!)
The colors of Italy inspired this piece, an intuitive portrait, a face from my imagination. I have been to Siena, and I LOVED the colors of the buildings so much, from that Venetian Rose color to the Yellow Ochre, with bit of purple hues in the afternoon shadows. Both of my newest portraits are now in theArtcyLucy shop on Etsy.
