Is it really the end of 2017? Wow! So very hard to believe, isn’t it?
November brought some winter illness to our house, so painting was a bit sparse. But towards the end of the month, my energy returned, and I was once again painting.
It’s been a year of excellent online art courses, from Kara Bullock’s Let’s Face It 2017 class, which was a year long portraits class, with a variety of teachers, and wonderful lessons…to Annie Hamman’s Close Up, another portraits class that I loved…to Kara’s Pixelated Portraits, which taught me a lot about laying down brush strokes (and leaving them!) and this month, Jeanne-Marie Webb’s portrait class, “Held, Captive” starts. All about faces.
Here’s a few newer paintings that are now available. Clicking on each photo, will take you to the listing, on either DailyPaintworks.comor my ArtcyLucy Etsy shop.
Portrait of Joy – 8 x 10 inch acrylic on Raymar panel
Portrait of Meliana – 11 x 14 inch acrylic on stretched canvas
Portrait of Aria – 8 x 10 inch acrylic on gessobord
In the past two months, I have completed a few more portraits that I just love.
Portrait of Chloe – 11 x 14 inch acrylic on stretched canvas She sold the day after I listed her. I had so much fun painting with all these colors and brush strokes…I can’t wait to do more portraits like this!
I completed a portrait of my beautiful niece…I was so excited to get her expression just right! Realistic paintings are still such a challenge for me. But I learned a lot from this one, and I am thrilled that my niece loves her portrait.
Lastly, one of my Etsy customers asked if I would make another painting of a portrait that sold last year, Emma in a Top Hat. It was a pleasure to revisit this one. I will never tire of this face, this pose…and that hat!
I have so many paintings in my Etsy shop that I would love for you to see. Shipping for 2017 ends on Friday, December 15th. Then I am taking a short break until January 2nd. So there are only a couple more days to make an order, until next year. Here’s a sample of what you will find on my online ArtcyLucy Etsy shop.
It really has been the most fantastic painting year I have EVER had. So many portraits painted, and many sold too. I am grateful for the kind feedback I am getting from the people that have received my art. It keeps me painting!
THANK YOU, for all your support, either in words, or purchases. It is truly appreciated!
And to all my art teachers this year…I am forever in your debt. You have changed me…for the better.
And I will never be the same.
