Portrait of Charlotte – 11 x 14 inch acrylic on stretched canvas

I am really enjoying working with a very simple palette lately, of black and white. I am exploring shapes of the face, shadows and highlighting…all with just two colors. I love vintage photographs, and have quite a collection, and that’s what inspired this portrait. And what can I say…I just love her hair!

You will see below, that I have painted the sides black, so there is no need for a frame, and this portrait can be hung as is.
