Tea with Vincent

I am at it again, painting tea bags, and portraits, and adding things to my online art shop.

This one is one of my all time favorite tea bag portraits, and I have been hanging on to it for a little while, because I love it so much. If you have been to my blog before, you will know I am a huge fan of van Gogh’s work, and especially his self portraits. I have painted a few of them myself, but never as tiny as this.

Tea with Vincent – 2.5 inch diameter acrylic painting on a Tetley tea bag

I tried to use thick brush strokes, which is why I love van Gogh’s work so much. I stood in front his paintings in Amsterdam, and just stared at the brush strokes…pure genius! He was certainly one of a kind!

His is not the only tea bag that I have just listed in my shop. Here are two new ones…

Sisters and Friends – 2.4 x 3.2 inch acrylic painting on tea bag

Portrait of Zoe – 2.4 x 3.2 inch acrylic painting on tea bag (SOLD, thank you!)

Painting on these tiny surfaces is quite addicting! My goal for the year is 100 tea bags. I just finished #86 yesterday. So pleased to have gone on this tea bag journey!
