I finished two new paintings this past week…and they both went through quite a metamorphosis until they were done. This is why painting is so much fun, sometimes the final result is not what I originally have in mind…but I learn an awful lot throughout the process of painting…from beginning (through that middle struggle, at times) and to the end.
Aubrey – 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand gessobord.
There are quite a few layers here, but I love the softness that comes through in the final result…and those sweet flowers on her wreath.
Heidi – 6 x 6 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand gessobord (SOLD, thank you!)
I can see my weeks of working on Frida Kahlo inspired paintings, has influenced this modern day Frida portrait. This one also went through quite a few changes before it was done….when I added those polka dots, I knew she was complete!
Both colorful portrait paintings are now available in my online Etsy shop, ArtcyLucy Studio.
