Six Blue Vases
I needed a day to relax and not paint from a photo reference.
I needed a day of color, and imagination. That is how this series of Six Blue Vases came to be.
The Blue Vase – 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on canvas panel- NFS
Seven Flowers in a Blue Vase – 5 x 7 inches acrylic painting on Ampersand gessobord
available in the Etsy shop
Nine Flowers in a Blue Vase – 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on canvas panel- NFS
Nine Flowers in a Blue Vase – 4 x 6 inch acrylic painting on recycled chipboard (from snack bar box)
Five Flowers in a Blue Vase – 4 x 6 inch acrylic painting on recycled chipboard (from Keebler cookie box)
Eight Red Flowers in a Blue Vase – 4 x 6 inch acrylic painting on recycled chipboard (from fruit snack box)
I painted these all at the same time, so that is why you see the same colors running through all of them. It is fun to paint this way, in multiples. Sometimes I need this riot of color.
The last three paintings, were painted on recycled materials…or should I say, I used them just before they went into the recycled bin. It just goes to show, that you can use just about ANYTHING for a painting surface! I like painting these to send off as Mail Art to my friends, or as little gift cards to include when I ship off my paintings from Etsy.
I love the look of all six of them together…all the color and happiness!

A great series. They look good together and it looks like you had fun painting them.
Thank you for your comment, Marion! I DID have fun! I popped over to your blog, and I recognized your florals, from Daily Paintworks! I’ve admired them for a while now…you aren’t afraid of color either, are you???
No not afraid of colour at all LOL. Everyone deserves colour in their lives!
I love seeing them all together at the end. So hard to pick a favorite, but when I was looking at each one individually as soon as I got to #4-nine flowers in a blue vase i said that’s the one!
Thanks for the comment, Janet! Yes, I love to see the look of them all together too…it’s been tough to separate them! Thanks for letting me know your favorite! Nice choice! My favorite is just below yours…#5…Five Flowers in a Blue Vase…I like the simplicity of it…and I am always in love with purple! I should use it more in my paintings!
