We pause from water lilies…just for a little while, to re-explore my love of sunflowers. My goal this month (besides 30 paintings) is to paint a little more loosely. Not as easy as it sounds…trust me.
The Courage To Bloom – 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand gessobord
This was an enjoyable evening in the art room…using a large brush on the background, and on the flower petals, and then flinging paint to get those happy little dots at the end…always fun! I confess, I am always one to fuss over paintings (sometimes to the detriment of the painting), I wisely listened when my husband said, “leave it alone”. And I am glad I did. I wish you could see the texture on this painting…I am really happy with that!
The title is a pretty personal one too…it explains how I feel about this art journey that I started in back in 2005. I worked on tiny 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch collages…and my love for art grew and grew…and I really never thought I would get to the point of painting on a weekly basis…let alone sell my paintings!
With a bit of curiosity, and a lot of courage, I think fantastic things can happen.
