I have two new portrait paintings to share today….
Sabine – 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand gessobord
These particular portraits went through quite a few transformations before they were completed. I was playing around with using gold paint, especially in this one…where you can see flecks of it in the background, as well as in the flowers of her hat. And of course, those shiny gold earrings. I am also experimenting with skin tones, textures, and color combinations. It’s been a fun month of painting!

This one…well, she started out as a blonde. But with several layers added, she ended up a raven haired beauty.
