Still playing with bold colors and patterns…and loving the red in this painting so much! It was nice to watch the progression of this painting. I had an idea of the focal image when I started, but not the background color or pattern. It’s been a while since I painted on canvas…it’s a challenge, after working with such smooth panels, like the Ampersand Gessobords. But working on canvas, makes me feel a bit like those French painters of the past, who primarily used canvas. I am loving the influence of Matisse here in the last few weeks…I love how my art has become so colorful!
