Un Petite Oiseau – 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on cradled wooden panel
I am excited to show you this painting…I love this one so much. It is so different from the Matisse inspired paintings I’ve been working on. I started this painting on a cradled wood panel, that I had already painted black. I loved working on a dark background, it really made those green and red colors pop! I found a vintage image of a woman holding a bird, and decided to try my hand at painting it. I didn’t spend a lot of time on this, I wanted it to be fun and loose and I didn’t want to get too tight with the details. I am so glad I stepped away when I did, because I certainly love the feel of this painting.
