Impression – 5 x 7 inch gouache painting on Ampersand Aquabord

This is the last of the gouache series of water lilies, for now. I will probably revisit it soon though, as I haven’t tired of painting these flowers and sky reflections on the water. I can see now why Monet was enamored with his garden. I only have photographs to work from, but I am loving them just the same.  This painting is now varnished and available here.

I am participating in Leslie Saeta’s 30 Painting in 30 Days in January, along with 400 other artists. Check her blog here, to see the daily paintings and prepare to be inspired. You can also see a Pinterest board, set up by Susan E. Jones, of the many paintings being created this month. It’s beautiful to see them all together!

The painter, being concerned only with giving his impression, simply seeks to be himself and no one else. (Claude Monet)
