30 in 30 days
Yes, I am at it again…thanks to Leslie Saeta’s encouragement. My goal for September is 30 paintings in 30 days…
And here is the first of them. Actually, I painted three landscapes at the same time, which is a good way for me to paint quickly, and without the nasty painting critic to take over my head while I paint. This painting, was inspired by a Google Maps view of the Isle of Wight. Yes, I am participating in the Virtual Paintout blog challenge too, and this month, we are wandering virtually, through a beautiful island off the coast of England. Here is the original view.
After seeing the original image, you can tell I amped up the colors just a bit. I like the “rainbow” fields that lead you to the cottage. But my favorite part, was painting the swirling clouds above. Traveling around the Isle of Wight on Google Maps, makes me want to take a trip to see these scenes for myself. But for now, I’ll settle for a virtual trip.
“Our Summer Cottage” is a 5 x 7 inch acrylic painting on Ampersand Gessobord. It is now available in my online Etsy shop.
Nice painting! Virtual Paintout is a great challenge to inspire new paintings.
Congratulations!
